British Bell & Howell 16mm machines can be serviced and operated with reference to the American equivalents. None of the range was British made, but sourced from Bell and Howell's associate company in Japan. The following information supplied by Ken Layton:

British TQ1 series, consisted of the following British Models, 652Q, 655Q and 658Q. This series is roughly the same as the 500 series in the USA. The British operator's manual is included on our CD-Rom. Also in the "British" range was the 644 TQ1 machine, featuring optical replay and magnetic record/replay. It was was similar to the 658Q but had manual threading.

The 652Q can be serviced with the model 545 manual.

The 655Q and 658Q can be serviced with the model 552 manual.

The TQ2 series is the same as the early 1500 series in the USA; such as the model 1552 autoload.

The TQ3 series is the same as the 2500 series in the USA
